A trip abroad starts from planning before the trip

It is important to secure your home but it is also important to be ready for your trip. Read the list of reminders - this way you will have a safe and memorable trip!

• Find out together with the travel agency which vaccines you need before the trip.
• Find out which visa rules apply in the country of destination.
• Do not forget to take identity documents with you. Make a copy of them beforehand and take the copies with you. Do not keep the copy and identity documents in the same place.
• Check that your travel insurance would cover risks which may occur during the trip. If you have questions, contact If.
• Order the European Health Insurance Card from the Health Insurance Fund. This gives you the right for needed medical care on the territory of the European Union and while staying in the European Economic Area.
• Learn by heart your PIN codes and passwords. This way you do not need to write them down, which will decrease the risk of someone using them without you knowing it. Be attentive and do not let anyone look over your shoulder while you are entering your PIN code.
• Take with you cash with the country of destination. Even if your bank card works almost everywhere it is good if you have cash. Do not keep all the money in one place - spread the risks!
• Save important phone numbers in your mobile phone. Write them down in your notebook, should your phone be stolen. You can find the telephone numbers in the information box on the right.
• Take with you the contact data of your bank, should you lose your bank card.
• When calling from abroad to Estonia you have to dial + followed by Estonia country code 372 and the house or mobile phone number, e.g. + 372 xxx xxxx.
• Do not forget to inform your family of your trip.
