Travelling by car or motorcycle gives you the sense of freedom. You decide when and where you want to stop. But there are a number of things to consider before you start your trip by car or motorcycle

Check if your driver’s licence is valid.
Do not leave your identity documents unattended.
Check that all technical indicators on your car or motorcycle meet the requirements of the countries that you are going to pass through.
When you are driving by car or motorcycle in Europe, you will need a Green Card. The Green Card gives you motor third party liability insurance.
A reflector vest for motorcyclists is obligatory in Italy, Spain, Portugal and Austria.
Do not leave valuables within plain sight.
Travel insurance covers only the theft of items from the car during the daytime.

If you are travelling by motorcycle, be sure to mention this when concluding your travel insurance contract.
