I am traveling, and my stay abroad will be extended. I would like to extend my travel insurance. Is it possible?

If the client has previously concluded travel insurance with If, then it is possible. The new policy will be subject to new terms and conditions. If the client has previously concluded travel insurance with some other insurance company, then he or she will be able to conclude a new contract subject to a 7-day waiting period, which means that the new policy will enter into force not earlier than 7 days after the client contacted If regarding this matter.

 

Will COVID-19 insurance be automatically added to my travel insurance?

COVID-19 insurance as a part of travel insurance will apply to medical assistance insurance automatically, if the region to which travel insurance applies is Nordic and Baltic States, Europe or extended Europe. COVID-19 insurance is automatically added to travel interruption coverage, if the client has added travel interruption coverage.

If I, my family member, or my travel companion is a close contract, and before traveling I must stay in quarantine or isolation, will If compensate me for expenses arising from the cancellation of my trip in such case?

No, in such case If will not compensate for such expenses. Expenses due to the cancellation of a trip are compensated for only if the insured person, his or her family member, or travel companion gets diagnosed with COVID-19, due to which the trip is canceled.

 
If I get diagnosed with COVID-19 during travel, will If compensate me for respective expenses?

Yes, If compensates for medical assistance expenses in case of Covid-19 events that happen abroad.

If the policy also includes travel interruption coverage, then If compensates for additional transport and accommodation expenses.

What will happen if during travel my travel companion gets diagnosed with Covid-19, due to which I will have to stay in quarantine or isolation? Will If compensate me for the resulting additional accommodation and travel expenses?

If your travel insurance policy also includes travel interruption coverage, then yes, in such a situation If will compensate you for additional transport and accommodation expenses. If travel interruption coverage was not chosen, then If will not compensate for additional expenses.

How big are sums insured in the case of COVID-19 insurance as a part of travel insurance?

In case of a COVID-19 event, medical assistance and travel interruption expenses are compensated for in accordance with the actual expenses, however, in the amount not exceeding the sum insured stated in the policy.

 

Does If compensate for expenses on a coronavirus test performed for the purpose of travel?

 No, If does not compensate for expenses on coronavirus tests required for travel. This applies to pre-travel tests, so to tests performed in airports or ports, and to post-travel tests.

I fell ill with COVID-19 during travel, and I am staying in quarantine or isolation. Will If compensate me for the resulting accommodation and travel expenses?

If the purchased travel insurance policy also includes travel interruption coverage, then yes, If will compensate for additional accommodation and travel expenses. Other expenses are not compensated for.

If travel interruption coverage was not purchased, then If will not compensate for such expenses.

No, in such case If will not compensate for additional expenses.

My flight has been canceled. Will If compensate me for expenses resulting from the flight cancellation?

No, in such case If will not compensate for additional expenses resulting from the flight cancellation.
