Device insurance – why might you need it?

It is hard to imagine daily life without different devices at our fingertips. And it makes sense – they make everyday tasks easier, support our well-being, help us find answers, and serve countless useful purposes. We have become so used to them that when something happens to one, it can feel like we have lost a part of ourselves – like "being without a hand".

Devices are our companions at work, in communication, learning, and leisure. They are with us every step of the way – and that is why it is worth taking care of them in advance. A sudden accident, theft, or loss could otherwise lead to unexpected costs and inconvenience.

Did you know that you can insure with us not only your phone, but also smartwatch, laptop, tablet and headphones? Pretty much all the devices you use every day.

Please keep in mind that we insure devices purchased as new from seller registered in European Economic Area – that includes the European Union, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein. Remember to keep your purchase documents – you will need them if you ever need to submit a claim.

Important to know!

With us you can insure devices that you purchased within 6 months, counting from the start date of your insurance period. For example, if you choose June 30, 2030 as the start date of your device insurance, the device must have been purchased no earlier than December 30, 2029.

Situations when device insurance helps

Have you ever experienced one of these situations?

We hope your answer is "no", but just know – in situations like these, it is easier to stay calm when you have insurance to help with the financial side.

Internal damage

Is your camera no longer focusing properly, leaving your travel photos blurry? Is your phone overheating and the battery swelling, making it unsafe to use? Just know that insurance also helps in cases of internal damage. We will compensate the repair costs if the issue is not already covered by the legally required warranty or any additional warranty from the manufacturer or seller.

The "Internal breakdown" risk applies only to devices that are not older than 36 months.

"Ooops!" A fall – time for repairs

Your cat did not get his treat fast enough and knocked your tablet off the table to get your attention? Now there is a crack across the screen? Or maybe your favorite headphones slip and hit the ground during your morning run – and stop working? We will compensate the repair costs for your insured device if it suffers sudden and unexpected damage.

If you plan to insure your phone, keep in mind that after an incident, our repair partner can offer you a replacement phone for the repair period. Just remember to let them know if you would like to use this option.  

When repairs are not an option – there is still a solution

We believe in sustainable solutions and, whenever possible, aim to repair insured devices. But not everything can be fixed – and in cases where a device is completely damaged, stolen, or taken during a robbery, we will compensate the cost of getting equivalent one.

For example, if someone steals your headphones from your bag while on public transport, we will compensate you for the costs of getting equivalent ones. Just remember to be responsible for your devices and avoid leaving them unattended.

Important to know!

If a theft or robbery has occurred, it must be reported to the police. To submit the claim in such case, you will also need to provide a police report.  

Protection in fraud-related situations

When you insure a phone, smartwatch, tablet or laptop, your policy will also include the “Protection against fraudulent payments by third parties” risk. Why might this be useful?

Just imagine this – your device is stolen, taken during a robbery, or lost. It ends up in someone else's hands, and they use it to carry out fraudulent actions. For example, they might use your stolen phone to make contactless payments or call premium-rate numbers.

In such cases, we compensate for the costs resulting from the illegal use of your device or its SIM card within 48 hours after the theft, robbery, or loss.

In case of loss, we will only compensate the costs if you have added the additional risk “Loss of phone” to your policy.  

Support when life takes an unexpected turn

For even greater peace of mind, you can add "Device invoices" risk to your insurance. It can be helpful in situations like unemployment, disability, or even death. During times like these, our support can help make the financial side a bit easier. And by the way – you can add this risk for just an extra 1 euro per month.

If an incident happens, we will compensate the costs related to your insured device, such as:

  • Leasing or installment payments.
  • Telecommunication service fees.
  • Monthly app subscriptions (like Spotify, Netflix, etc.)

You can add this risk when insuring your phone, smartwatch, tablet or laptop. If an incident happens, the maximum compensation we will pay is 50 € per month – for up to 6 months.
